What to eat before or after a work out? Answered by PT

We had a chance to team up with Kira, a personal trainer from MotivatePT to create two simple recipes that feed your body with the best nutrients. They are great before or after training and very simple to prepare. A few teaspoons of our raw berry powders will triple the nutrients of these meals so it’s very good idea to add them to meals and snacks throughout the day. This way you can make sure your body is well fed and has enough energy to keep going. As Kira mentions below, the powders have inflammatory reducing components so after training hard, it’s important to start the recovery. That’s where a diet plays a huge part and berry powders are very good.  A teaspoon of the berry powder is equal to a handful of fresh, wildly grown Arctic berries which can have up to three times the nutrients of cultivated berries! Simple Arctic Berry Super Bowl

 

Simple and nutritious; the best way to describe this recipe. This Arctic Berry Superbowl only has three ingredients and is made with all natural products. This recipe takes a twist on the crazed acai bowl trend. Arctic Power Berries’ Lingonberry Powder has an incredibly high amount of antioxidants and is known to reduce inflammation. This berry bowl will become a staple for a quick and easy breakfast or snack. For those who have busy mornings and want something tasty and nutritious before a training session, this is the recipe for you! – Prepared by Kira, personal trainer at MotivatePT.

  1. In a high powered blender, mix the Arctic Power Berries’ Lingonberry powder, frozen banana, crushed ice and yogurt together. Blend until it comes to a smooth consistency.
  2. Pour the mixture into a bowl and top with your choice of berries, coconut, berry powder or granola. (other toppings can be added as well)
  3. Enjoy!

 

Arctic Berry Protein Baked Oatmeal

 

This baked oatmeal is perfect for those mornings when you don’t feel like waking up to train. This recipe is a great option for breakfast because of the high amount of protein and fibre that will keep you energised throughout the morning. Using the all-natural Arctic Power Berries’ Powder provides you with extra nutritional value with vitamins, antioxidants and minerals. This recipe is MotivatePT approved and delicious. Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375F
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl (oats, Arctic Berry Powder, cinnamon, coconut sugar and salt)
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs, honey, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Pour wet ingredients over the dry mixture and combine well.
  5. Pour in coconut oil while stirring constantly.
  6. Add mixed berries. Gently fold into the batter.
  7. Grease a 9×13 baking pan with coconut oil.
  8. Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake at 375 for about 35-40 minutes.
  9. Cut into pieces and enjoy!
